| The Bergshav policy regarding Safety &
Health issues aims at monitoring relating procedures and their effectiveness on
a continuous basis. Follow-up from such monitoring and implementation of
corrective actions is handled through the Non-conformity Reporting System.

The Company's Objectives & Policies is a document authorised and signed by
the Chairman of the Board and is displayed in an accessible place on board
every ship in addition to being a part of the Company Quality Manual.
Below a summary of the basic guidelines in health and safety matters as
expressed in the Policy document: |

- Maintain high technical and operating quality of the various ships.
- Develop and maintain reporting routines to the shipowning companies and,
to the extent possible, keep the shipowning companies secured against financial
exposure.
- Develop and implement Safety, Health & Environmental Management System
in order to maintain a high level of safety and environmental awareness within
the organisation and thereby :
- - Preventing human injury, loss of life and property;
- - Ensuring safe practices and routines and review of same;
- - Avoding damage to the environment;
- - Complying with applicable international and national conventions,
mandatory rules
& regulations and ensure that applicable codes (such as
ISM, regulations from
NMD, IMO, USCG, US Public Health), as well as guidelines and
standards
- recommended by Classification Societies, official bodies
and authorities, port
state control and maritime industry organisations are taken
into account;
- - Handling emergencies should they occur.
- Develop and maintain a personnel policy which will secure the best
possibilities of the employees' contribution to the accomplishment of Company
objectives.
- Enhance motivation and working conditions to promote personal and
professional development of the employees with requirements and presuppositions
clearly defined.
