Bergshav Management has vast experience in chartering and
operation of different kind of tonnage.
Over time, we have developed close relations with charterers and operators of
ships. Vessels are employed partly in the spot market partly in the
long-term time charter market, all depending on type of vessel, market position
and investors' preferences.
The MT "Bergina" illustrates the long-term aspects of employment.
The vessel, purpose built as an offshore loading shuttle tanker in 1982,
has been chartered to Statoil's subsidiary Navion since her delivery. MT
"Bergina" has been managed by Bergshav Management since 1989.
Also in the dry bulk market the operation/chartering of tonnage has been
developed over the years, with focus on safety, efficiency and high quality
transport.
In Bergshav Management, each Superintendent has the responsibility for a group
of 3-4 vessels, and a Superintendent and an Operations Manager constitute the
Management Team for a vessel. This ensures reduced communication lines
between chartering and technical operation, irons out discrepancies between the
two traditional departments and improves the overall management.
Furthermore, a certified quality assurance system enables close monitoring of
each vessel's performance, aimed at continual improvement of the operations.
